Nominations for the 2017-2018 RRCL Executive Committee

Update 2017-03-28:  Nominations at are now closed for next year’s committee. All positions have been filled by acclamation so there will be no elections required this year.

The Rainbow Rockers Curling League exists because of the tireless hard work of a committee of volunteers who love to curl and give back to their community. Please take the time to participate in the process of creating the executive committee for next year and help ensure the continuation of the league.

Nominations for the 2017-2018 Executive Committee are now open for the position of President, Secretary, Treasurer, Bonspiel Chair, Social Events and Promotions Coordinator, Drawmaster, and Membership Coordinator.

Only current, full time members of the league may make nominations or be nominated to serve on the committee. For more information on the roles of the executive committee, please see http://www.rainbowrockers.ca/executive-committee.

Nominations will be open from 12:00 a.m. March 20, 2017 to 6:00 p.m. March 27, 2017. A member must be nominated by two or more current full-time members in order to be considered for a position on the executive committee. Members may nominate themselves. Nominees will be contacted by the election coordinator by e-mail to confirm that they accept the nomination.

In order to be accepted as a candidate for the executive committee, nominees must respond, in writing or by e-mail, confirming that they are willing to stand for election and to fulfill the duties for the entire 2017-2018 season. Responses must be received by the election coordinator no later than 9:00 p.m., March 29, 2017.

Nominations can be submitted by sending an e-mail to webmaster @ rainbowrockers.ca. In your nomination message you must state your FULL name and clearly indicate who you are nominating and for which position you are nominating the person for. Failure to do so will void the nomination.

Nominations will be kept confidential until an election is announced otherwise they will be announced at the closing banquet.

Should there be more than one nomination for a position on the executive committee, there will be an election period held March 31 to April 8, 2017. Further information will be provided prior to the election if one is required. Questions can be sent to the Elections Chair at webmaster @ rainbowrockers.ca. Results of the nominations or the election will be announced at this year’s closing banquet on April 9th.
